As an EVCS site host partner, you play a vital role in providing convenient and reliable charging access to electric vehicle drivers. To further strengthen our partnership and provide you with a foundational understanding of the services offered at your location, here's a basic overview of how EVCS charging stations work for users.
EVCS offers a variety of charging solutions, and the specific steps a driver takes to charge may vary slightly depending on the station type and their chosen payment method.
Key Information for Site Hosts
Charging Session Initiation
Drivers can start a charging session using one of the following methods:
-
- EVCS Mobile App: Our dedicated mobile app allows drivers to locate stations, start and monitor charging sessions, and manage their accounts. This is the most convenient and preferred method of starting a session.
- QR Code: Many of our stations feature a QR code that drivers can scan with their smartphone to initiate a session without the app.
- Credit Card Reader: Some stations are equipped with credit card readers for direct payment.
- RFID Card: Site Hosts equipped with EVCS-issued RFID cards can tap their card to start charging.
Payment Options
EVCS offers flexible payment options for drivers, including both subscription-based plans for regular users and convenient pay-as-you-go options for occasional charging.
- Subscription Plans: Drivers can choose from various subscription plans that often include benefits like a monthly charging allowance and reduced rates. These plans typically offer both a standard rate and an overage rate if the monthly allotment is exceeded.
- Pay As You Go: For drivers who prefer not to subscribe, we offer straightforward pay-as-you-go options. This can be done either through the EVCS mobile app (without a subscription) or directly at the charging station using a credit card reader or by scanning a QR code with their phone to initiate a web-based session.
EVCS also supports various payment methods for drivers, including:
-
- Credit and debit cards: EVCS app, QR code, and some charging stations
- EVCS account balances: EVCS account holders with wallet balances
- Apple and Google Pay: QR Code payments only

Our network includes different types of chargers that offer varying charging speeds (e.g., Level 2, DC Fast Charging). The type of charger available at your location will influence the charging time for drivers.
